Jaguar and Land Rover Manufactured in China
Two British car brands, Jaguar and Land Rover will be manufactured in China by the new owner of Tata Motors. Giant Panda Affairs selected Indian car manufacturers to improve competitiveness with cheaper production costs and targeting new markets in developing countries.
Chief Executive Officer of Jaguar-Land Rover (point), Carl-Peter Forster said that manufacturing activity in China will lead to a number of 40,000 units per year for both brands. But unfortunately, Forster be reluctant to give time realization of the plant.
Good point in trying to direct the division to compete with brands of luxury cars like BMW and Daimler are first present in China. Tata claimed had sold 208 197 units of Jaguar and Land Rover in fiscal year 2009.
“China represents the most developed markets. But we need to grow in other markets such as Europe, South Africa, South America,” says Forster.
Acquiring Tata Jaguar and Land Rover in 2008 from the ownership of Ford Motor Co., was valued at U.S. $ 2.5 billion.
In addition to point also to strengthen its presence by opening a new dealership network in India and China. To prepare the assembly facilities in China, continued Forster, it takes about one to two years after Tata decided the local partners and the location of new factories.
